Riverside

Originally built in 1909 as a private home, ours is the first and is still the only locally, family owned and operated funeral home in the Arlington Village of Riverside, serving neighborhood families and surrounding areas since 1949. Our funeral home has proudly served our nations veterans and their families for over 60 years and for over 20 years Akes Family Funeral Home was the active duty provider of funeral and cremation services for March AFB and Norton AFB. In 1978 we were selected to provide reparation and burial services for Medal of Honor Recipient Staff Sergeant Ysmael R. Villegas (World War II) United States Army, the first veteran to be buried in Riverside National Cemetery.
