Frank Torrez Obituary

Frank L Torrez Sr. passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at the age of 72 surrounded by close family and friends.
Frank was born to Faustino Sr. and Tomasa Torrez on March 24th 1946. He was the 5th child of 9 and grew up in Ontario, CA. After graduating from Chaffey High School, he enlisted in the US Army and served honorably from 1964 to 1968. He was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. Frank met the love of his life, Patricia (Patti) Flin, and married her on July 13th 1968. God blessed them with 2 children and 2 grandchildren. Franks love of sports drove him to play for and coach the semi-pro baseball team, Cucamonga Mets. As his children grew, he became very active in the community as a coach and umpire for Little League baseball, AYSO soccer, and was selected to umpire for the Little League Western Regionals in San Bernardino, CA. When Frank was not coaching or umpiring, he was rooting for his favorite teams including the L.A. Dodgers, L.A. Rams, L.A. Lakers, L.A. Kings, USC Football and Pfeiffer University Women’s Soccer. Frank was a long time valued employee of Southern California Edison.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Patti Torrez; along with son, Frank Torrez and his wife Jennifer, and two grandchildren Tracy Lynn and Emily Joy Torrez of Orlando, FL. Sister-in-Law, Irene Torres of Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Sister, Helen Culwell of Upland, CA. Brother, Tino Torrez and his wife Nancy of Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Brother, Paul Torrez and his wife Mary of Fontana, CA. Brother, Johnny Torrez and his wife Mary Lou of Fontana, CA. Brother, David Torrez of Upland, CA. Mother-in-law, Bernice Flin, of Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Bill Martinez, husband of sister-in-law Marcia of Fontana, CA. Brother-in-law, Vince Flin of Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Sister-in-law Blanca and her husband Ken Minnix of Fontana, CA and Sister-in-law Donna Barrows of Rancho Cucamonga, CA. He is also survived by many loving nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces, and God-children. He has joined in heaven his daughter Tracy, father Faustino, mother Tomasa, brother Joe, brother Tony, sister Josie, father-in-law Buddy, and sister-in-law Marcia.
