Santos Salas, age 90, a resident of Victorville, California, passed away on June 21, 2020 in Riverside, California. He as born on November 2, 1929 in McAllen, Texas to Jose and Concepcion (Sauceda) Salas.
Santos served 20 years in the United States Marine Corps and retired as a Gunnery Seargent. He earned the Purple Heart, the Good Conduct Medal, the Korean Campaign Medal, the Meritorious Mast, The National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnamese Campaign Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Rifle Expert Badge and the Pistol Sharp Shooter. He also owned his own restaurants for 65 years, worked as an immigration consultant, and volunteered with the California Highway Patrol. He was a loving father and grandfather. Santos is survived by his children Margo Ramirez-DeGeorge, Pati Martinez, Ari Hernandez, Connie Salas Almazan, Melba Salas Cruz, Amy Salas Avila, Yolanda Salas Rodriguez, Gabriel Salas, Christina K. Gonzales and Jorge Salas. Santos leaves behins as well 29 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. Beloved brother to Antonio Salas, Joe Salas and Emilio Salas. He was preceded in death by his wife Angeles Salas.
