ROSE JOSEPHINE STENGEL

Rose Josephine Stengel, 93, passed away on June 19, 2024 in Porterville, California. She was born on August 19, 1930 in Los Angeles, California to Louis and Silvia (Bleau) Combe. She was the 7th child born out of 9 kids. When she was in school, she didn't like going outside to play, she liked to read a lot and that was her favorite past time always. She married at the young age of 18 and her husband was 5 years older than her. She became a mother to Joan Dippold-Valentine at the age of 19 and 2 and a half years later to David Stengel. She had a baby girl who passed away in the hospital after birth. She then lost 4 more babies before they were born. She had RH negative factor.  Rose worked in the grocery industry for 16 years as a checker and a book keeper. She was a good worker and very well liked. When her husband got sick she retired to take care of him. They moved to Springville, California to be near their children on the family land that was purchased. She spent the last 14 years in the Porterville Convalescent home and was well taken care of.

She will be laid to rest by her husband Edward who passed away in 2011.

Visitation will be on Thursday, July 11, 2024 from 11 am-1 pm in Akes Family's "Chapel of the Chimes" Riverside, California.

Graveside Service will follow at Riverside National Cemetery at 2:00 pm
