ROBERT ANTHONY Obituary

It is with a heavy heart that the family announces the passing of Robert “Bob” Nelson Anthony Sr.  Bob Anthony, of Riverside, CA,  a beloved husband, devoted father, and cherished grandfather, passed away on August 24, 2024 in Ontario California. Bob was born January 2, 1940 in Portland Oregon to Elmer “Tony” and Ermal Anthony. Bob’s life was marked by his unwavering dedication to his family and his enduring love for his pets, who were always his greatest joy.

Bob's adult life began with his enlistment in the Navy in 1958, following his high school graduation. He proudly served as an Aviation Electronics Technician, achieving the rank of Petty Officer Second Class, (E-5) and was honorably discharged in 1961. His Navy service included a memorable stint on Midway Island.

After his military service, Bob enjoyed a distinguished career as an electrical technician in Aerospace, dedicating 40 years to the field until his retirement in 2002. At Rockwell International (now Boeing), he was an integral part of the electrical test team for the space program, working on every space shuttle. Bob fondly recounted the times he had the unique experience of sleeping on top of, underneath, and inside of a 747, along with a few short naps inside the space shuttle. His contributions extended to the C-130 gunship and B-1 programs, reflecting his commitment and expertise in aerospace technology.

In retirement, Bob continued his passions for collecting stamps, coins, and trains. He loved attending train shows and train conventions and found great joy in playing games with family and friends. Bob's infectious laughter and radiant smile were the hallmarks of his personality, and he had an incredible ability to brighten any room.

Bob will be remembered for his love of life, his generous spirit, and his ability to make every moment with family and friends special. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth and joy that will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Bob is preceded in death by both of his parents Elmer “Tony” Anthony, and Ermal Anthony Collins.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Dena; his five children: Donnie and his wife Kathy, Eddie, William, Tina and her husband Eric, and Linda and her husband George; five grandchildren: Joe, Cassandra, Nick, Robbie, and Brianna; and three great-grandchildren: Jordyn, Jaylen, and Jayden.
