Richard Ronald Rayls was born June 16th, 1945 In Laurel Mississippi. He found eternal rest on March 10th 2022. He was an only child; however, through the years we acquired many aunts and uncles because of the lifelong friendships my parents established. The family moved to California when Rick was very young. He loved drag racing at lions drag strip, body surfing and building hot rods. He met Carol his forever wife and was married on June 8th 1965. They had 4 children Rich, Jimmy, Ben, and Windy, who were all born in Southern California. He came to know the Lord around the age of 22. The story goes; he was sitting in a rocking chair drinking a beer and reading the book of John. While reading he came to the realization, he needed Jesus. Shortly after, he felt the call of the Lord to the ministry. Rick and Carol ministered as a team in several churches throughout California, reaching from the southern to the northern border and everywhere in between. Many people found Hope in Jesus Christ through their ministry. Rick was known for his teaching and preaching and was a Bible encyclopedia. Rick became proficient on computers long before many people had them. He used computers in their ministry as well as other projects. Rick loved being active and continued racing cars, riding motorcycles and playing fast pitch softball. Later in life he even started surfing again. He stayed active until serious back issues slowed him down. He continued to work on his 1955 Chevy pickup even with the serious injuries. He is survived by All 4 of his Children, 7 granddaughters, 1 grandson, 3 daughters in law, 1 son in law and all of those adopted brothers and sisters that became our aunts and uncles. He will be missed greatly but we are so happy that he is now with Jesus, Carol his wife and all those that have gone before.
Graveside service for Richard and his wife Carol will be on Friday, July 22, 2022 in Riverside National Cemetery at 1:30 in the afternoon.
