Pedro Castillo Obituary

Pedro (Pete) Castillo, 70 years of age, passed away on the afternoon of Monday, September 7, 2020, due to chronic medical conditions, at Loma Linda VA Hospital.  Pete was born in Riverside, California.  He served his Country by joining the United States Marine Corps, which was his first love, from 1968 to 1970. After his time in the USMC, he went to RCC to obtain his Automotive Tech. Certificate, which lead to his career as a heavy-duty mechanic. In his spare-time he enjoyed barbecuing, camping, fishing, spending time tinkering with classic vehicles, and caring for his plants and fruit trees.  Pete was always there to love, guide and support his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who meant the world to him.

Pete married his young love, Nancy Vanous, six months, after his return from his tour of duty in Vietnam, in 1970.  Nancy was his second love, after the United States Marine Corps.  They were inseparable, during their marriage of 50 years, even up to the very last few days of his life here on earth.

Pete leaves behind his wife, Nancy Castillo; one son, Pedro Jr. and three daughters, Teresa, Phellina, and Annie, one son-in-law, Roy Rivera (married to Phellina); his grandchildren:  Delishea Guyton, Christine and Randy Ramirez, Nichol and Edgar Bernardino, PJ and Rosie Castillo, and DJ; his great-grandchildren: Joshua, Desiree, Damien, Sara, and David Ramirez; Edgar Jr., Mia, and Vicente Bernardino; Amelia and Rosalinda Castillo.  He also leaves behind his brother Johnny Avila and wife, Alice; his sister Josie and husband, Ronnie Pena; his sister Eva Ruby; his sister-in-law, Esther Hernandez; his brother-in-law Rod Vanous and wife, Ellen; and his brothers-in-law Tim and Stevie Vanous. There are also many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles that will miss him dearly. He has now joined his parents, siblings, 2 grandbabies, 2 great grandbabies, and many more beloved family members.
