Patricia Holloway Obituary

Patricia Ann Jay Satoski Holloway
It is with deep love and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Patricia “Patti” Holloway.
Patti was born Friday, October 13, 1933, to Dorothea and Ed Jay (Jaglowicz) in Detroit Michigan. Patti passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024, in Riverside, CA, at the remarkable age of 90, following a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia, surrounded by her loving family.
After attending St. Mary’s Academy in Monroe, MI, Patti worked as a switchboard operator for Detroit Edison. With her earnings she proudly bought a red Nash Rambler convertible and loved going out dancing with her girlfriends to the big band music in Detroit’s many ballrooms.
It was at one of those ballrooms where she met her future husband, Richard Joseph Satoski. They married in 1957, and after Richard graduated medical school in 1958, he entered the Air Force. They lived in Little Rock, Arkansas, and eventually settled down in San Bernardino, CA in 1962.
Patti was a wonderful mother and consummate homemaker. During their 18-year marriage she and Richard had the unique experience of being “city ranchers,” raising cows, pigs, ducks and chickens on their two-acre property.
Patti was a supervisor at Fedco pharmacy from ’82-’89 and later lived in Canyon Lake with her partner of 25 years, Bill Robb, who died of cancer. At 76 years young she married William Victor “Vic“ Holloway. They enjoyed traveling, movies, crime novels, and raising poodles. Patti had the remarkable ability to make everyone feel special through her genuine interest, thoughtful questions, heartfelt compliments, and warm hugs and kisses.
Patti was predeceased by her parents Dorothy and Ed, first husband Richard Satoski, common law partner Bill Robb, second husband Vic Holloway, brother Jackie, sister, Sr. Ursula Jay, and friends Joyce Blashill and Rose Messina.
Patti is survived by daughter Dawn (Tom) Watson, grandchildren Tyler, Ryan, and Jenna (Garrett) Gudgel; daughter Gayle (Dan) DuRivage, grandchildren Austin (Breeane), Monae, Sage, Drew (Danielle), Troy (Stefani), and Danielle (Brandon) Di Tommaso; daughter Robin Satoski; daughter Jill (Rich) Romano, grandchildren, Mitchell and Madeline, four great grandchildren, stepdaughter Vicki Holloway, and friend Shirley Nacy.
A private celebration of life was held in September to honor Patti’s and to share the cherished memories that will remain in our hearts forever.
A special thanks to the staff and caregivers at Sunrise Senior Living Canyon Crest for their loving compassionate care.
