On Friday, October 25, 2024, Olivio Ernesto Machado, passed away at the age of 76.
Oliver, as he was known, was preceded in death by his father, Nicacio, and his mother, Clara. He is survived by his wife, Maria Rosario, lovingly known as Chayo, his sister, Esther, his brother, Angel, his three children, Monica, Ernie and Nancy and their spouses, Dale, Stacey and Cliff, along with his six grandchildren, Dale, Jacob, Abigail, Mason, Alaina and Dylan, and his three great grandchildren, Bennett, Lucy and John.
Oliver was born, June 3, 1948 in Ranchuelo Las Villas, Cuba, to Nicacio and Clara. He was the eldest of his parents’ three children. He immigrated to the United States at the age of 8 and lived there for the remainder of his life. First settling in South Los Angeles and later in Huntington Park where he went to junior and high school, met his wife, married, and had his three children. He and his wife purchased their first home in Norwalk, where they raised their three children and he proudly became a United States Citizen.
Oliver was happily married to his current wife, Chayo, for over 40 years. They loved traveling, spending time with family, and babysitting their grandchildren.
Oliver worked very hard to support his family and became successful in the used car business. He opened two car dealerships, the first in South Central Los Angeles and the last in Riverside. Of all his life’s work, he considered his children as his greatest accomplishment and was very proud of his family. He instilled a very strong belief in his children that family always comes first.
Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024 at 10 o'clock in the morning in Grimes-Akes Family's "Grace Chapel" Corona, California.
