MARY JANE (TROESH) HOLT

Mary Jane Holt was born on June 20, 1949 in Toledo, Ohio to Jean and John Troesch.
Mary Jane was the second of four children. The Troesch family moved to California in
1960, and eventually settled in Riverside. Mary Jane attended Norte Vista High School.
She married her husband of 45 years Mike Holt; not once, but twice! This union yielded
two daughters and three grandchildren.
She was a feisty firecracker indeed. Those who knew Mary Jane will remember her love
of a good joke. She was certain to crack one herself with her signature witty humor and
candid sarcasm. Her laughter was always good-natured and affable.
She will be remembered as a great friend and loving mother. She was a warm-hearted
grandma who treasured her three grandkids. She loved her family to the moon and
back, and if you were fortunate to be one of her friends, well…she loved you the same.
She retired from Kaiser Permanente in 2014, where she worked as a medical coder for
20 years. One of Mary Jane’s favorite pastimes was bowling. She played in a Thursday-
night league for numerous years. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and cooking. She was
a natural in the kitchen, where she often whipped up hearty home-cooked meals. A
family-favorite specialty of hers was Chicken Paprikash. Mary Jane enjoyed card
games, trips to Laughlin, local casinos, and playing LEGO video games on the Xbox.
Mary Jane passed away April 18, 2022 after a long battle with cancer. Her fighting
strength was still evident even in her final days. Mary Jane is survived by her daughters,
Marti Holt Powell and Paula Jankowiak; grandchildren, Philip Powell, Daniel Jankowiak,
and Bailey Powell; siblings Donna Jean Marshall, John Troesch, and Anna Marie
Quarto; along with several nieces, nephews, and friends.
She will be missed, but heaven just got a little livelier now that she has come home.

A memorial will be held for Mary Jane on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 11 a.m. The location is Sandals Church, 6807 Palm Ave. in Riverside, CA 92506.
