Mary Faye Watson died peacefully at her home in Dardanelle, Arkansas, on April 8, 2025. She was surrounded by her family and their love in her last moments.
Mary was born on November 28, 1950, to James and Margaret Gebhart in Zanesville, Ohio. In 1963, the Gebhart family settled in the San Bernardino, California area. This is where Mary would spend most of her life, including the many years she was proud to work for the San Bernardino Sheriff's Department as a custody assistant until her retirement in 2008, and her 37-year marriage to James Watson until his death in 2005. Mary and James's family finds comfort, knowing that they are together, laughing and bickering, again.
Mary is also preceded in death by her mother and father as well as siblings Fred, John, Thomas, and Nancy Gebhart.
Mary is survived by daughters Cheryle (Jesse) Martinez of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Tina (Karl) Campbell of Chula Vista, California; eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; siblings Mike (Joyce) Gebhart, Eleanore (Rene) Diaz, Jeannie (Rick) La Cues, Peggy (Jerry) Stallings, and Sue (Doug) Shull; niece and best friend Jennifer (Jer) Stallings and many nieces and nephews she loved very much.
Mary will be remembered by all of them for her sense of humor, her stubborn personality, and her devotion to her family.
