Mary Lou Kroeze, age 95, of Norco, passed away on July 15, 2022 with her three children by her
side. She died peacefully at home after a long battle with congestive heart failure, edema, and
Parkinson’s disease.
Mary Lou married the late Calvin (Cal) Kroeze in 1949, and they lived together in Paramount for
18 years before relocating to Norco. She is survived by her children: Bruce Kroeze, of Joshua
Tree; Kris Letterman, of Tucson; and Laurie Landridge, of Norco. She is also survived by her four
grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was born at home to the late Bruce and Charlotte Boucher on June 12, 1927 in Long Beach,
California. Mary Lou graduated from high school early at age 16. Her first job was for the US
Army as a typist. She worked in bookkeeping, accounting, and secretarial jobs throughout her
marriage, and always enjoyed working.
Mary Lou enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, snow and water skiing, playing
cards, square dancing, and, in her later years, going on cruises with Cal. She also enjoyed
reading and doing crossword puzzles. She had a wonderful sense of humor, and a deep and
lifelong faith in God. When asked what she would like her children, grandchildren, and great-
grandchildren to remember about her, she replied, “I want them to remember that I loved
them. What else is more important than that?”
A Celebration of Life for Mary Lou will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 1 p.m. to
5 p.m. at her home on 3680 Vine Ave, Norco, California. The family asks that in lieu of sending
flowers that people make donations to The Salvation Army.
