Mark Alva McFall was born on March 26, 1958 in Los Angeles, California. He was the fifth child born to Everett Dewey McFall and Willie Jean Similton-McFall. Mark went to Caldwell Elementary, Walton Jr. High, and Compton High School, but he completed his education by getting his General Education Diploma (GED). Mark was raised by his grandparents Riceal Walker and Woodrow Jones, as well as his step-grandfather James Walker because his mom died when he was 15 years old. Willie Jean asked Herbert A.R. Collins to look out after her son in her final days on earth.
On July 22, 1981 Mark (Alvie) married Lucille Marie Mitchell at the Liberty Baptist Church in Los Angeles, CA. Mark was married to Lucille for thirteen years and to this union they produced two children, Alvanisha Marie and Mark Alva McFall, Jr., who affectionately called him "Pops"
In 1998 Mark and Lisa met and started dating. They soon became a blended family and began to build their lives together as one. Mark loved being a father to all his children, Alvanisha, Mark Jr., Vershay, Vernae, Raymond Jr., and in 2002 Mark became a father once again with the birth of his youngest son Marquis Eugene McFall. Often you would hear Mark giving words of wisdom or offering an encouraging word to anyone who would listen. On October 24, 2016 Mark and Lisa married and continued building their life together.
He worked down through the years as a plant protection officer, a security officer for the Compton Unified School District, a plant security officer at Allied Aerospace, security officer for Lyons Security Detention Office of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (I.C.E) until he was hired as security officer at Sherman Indian High School in Riverside, Ca where he was promoted to recreation technician until his retirement in June 2022.
Mark loved to play dominos, card games like spades, and he loved to go play the horses at the tracks, Santa Anita, Hollywood Park and online with Television Games Network (TVG). His favorite football team was the Dallas Cowboys under the ownership of Jerry Jones, and coach Tom Landry and the San Francisco 49ers. He loved to eat beef tacos, spaghetti, and one of his favorite candies was the red cinnamon gummy bears, despite his diabetes.
