Mark Robert Bader, 68, passed away on February 26, 2026, in Moreno Valley, California. Mark was born on October 9, 1957, in Mohall, North Dakota, to Marvin and Peggy (Smith) Bader. He grew up in Highland, California, along with his parents and three brothers and graduated from The Carl and Dora Anderson School in San Bernardino in 1979. Mark lived with a developmental disability and resided in the family home until his mother's passing.
Mark was predeceased by his parents. His father, Marvin, a U.S. Navy veteran and educator in the San Bernardino Unified School District and at California State University, San Bernardino, passed in 2005. His mother, Peggy, a devoted member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Redlands who cherished her coastal South Carolina roots, passed in 2010. Mark is survived by brothers James (Mary) Bader of Rancho Cucamonga, California; Scott (Melissa) Bader of Oak Harbor, Washington; and David (Kathy) Bader of Temecula, California. Mark is also survived by nieces Allison, Meghan, Kristin, and Emily, whom he loved dearly.
Mark was a fixture in his community, and his laugh was unforgettable. He truly valued his solitude and found joy in simple pleasures, such as walking the family dog and reading books and newspapers. Mark was an avid sports lover who followed basketball and football, but there was no team he loved more than the UCLA Bruins football team.
Our family is deeply grateful to the many caregivers, friends, neighbors, and community members who supported Mark throughout the years. He was a cherished son, brother and uncle who taught us the true meaning of patience and joy.
Mark will be reunited with his parents as they are laid to rest together at Riverside National Cemetery on April 24, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. Please join us to celebrate their lives and participate in a remembrance for all three family members.
