María Consuelo Oliva was on born September 15, 1936. She is the second of seven siblings, daughter of José María Fernández and Adela Arredondo, and, born in the city of Guatemala. At the age of twelve years old, she began working to help her parents and siblings. She continued like this for the next eleven years, in 1956 she met Romeo Efrain Oliva, a handsome and hardworking young man, from the city of Coban. They fell in love, and in October 1958 they decided to get married in the city of Guatemala. As the years passed, they were blessed with five children.
Connie, as she was identified by all those that knew her, enjoyed a good soccer game, playing bingo and lottery, and do not tell her to go somewhere, because it did not matter where, she was already at the door.
Mita, was her nickname given to her by her first grandchild which became a new tradition among all her twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren to this date.
Mami, Connie, Mita whatever the name you knew her by, she will always be in our minds with a warm loving feeling and sacrifice for all her children. We are not saying goodbye but, see you later Mami, when we will see a brand-new woman with a new body and spirit. Thank you to God almighty for His mercy and the miracle of Salvation in Jesus Christ the Lord for Connie Oliva.
“Mita” we’ll miss you!
