Marguerite Walker, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful Christian, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025, in Riverside, California. She was 90 years old.
Born in Kansas City, Missouri, Marguerite was the daughter of Cecil Edward Houze and Beulah Marguerite Shuster. She grew up in a loving home where she developed a strong foundation of family values that would guide her during her lifetime.
On a beautiful day in May 1954, Marguerite married the love of her life, Gene Walker. Together, they built a life filled with love, joy, and devotion to their family. Gene preceded her in death, but their bond remained unbroken through the years.
Marguerite was a proud homemaker, dedicating her life to raising her three children: David (Joan) Walker, Kathy (Dennis) Darr, and Steve (Mona) Walker. Her steadfast spirit was evident in everything she did, whether it was in her home or her church, where she was a devoted member. Her faith in Jesus steadied her through every stage of her life.
Marguerite leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and faithfulness. She was blessed with six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, whom she loved and brought her immense joy and pride.
Marguerite will be missed by her family, friends, and all those who were touched by her sweet spirit. A woman of quiet strength and genuine love, she leaves a lasting imprint on all who were blessed to know her.
A private family service will be held to honor her life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to StoryRunners, a ministry of Cru that takes God’s Word to oral learners in unreached people groups through Bible storytelling.
“To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:8). Marguerite has joined the great cloud of witnesses that preceded her and has entered into the joy of her Lord.
