John Charles Bottom

John Charles Bottom, passed away Friday, September 4, 2020 in Long Beach, California at the age of 77 years. Born Friday, June, 11, 1943 to Robert and Ina (Erickson) Bottom in Illinois. 

John served his country in the United States Air Force from 1962- 1982 obtaining the rank of Technical Sergeant (TSGT). While serving in the Air Force he received the following Commendations, The Air Force Commendation Medal, Purple Heart, The ribbon for Expert Marksmanship, the Air Force Longevity Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Metal and the Vietnam Presidential Unit Citation.

He is survived by his Loving Wife Xu Bottom and cherished son Tim Bottom both of Long Beach, California. 

Friends and family may gather together for a time of viewing Thursday, September 17, 2020, from 10:30 am-12:30 pm in Akes Family Funeral Homes "Chapel of The Chimes" 9695 Magnolia Avenue, Riverside, California 92503. A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:30 pm. Graveside services with Military Honors will follow at 2 pm, staging area #1 in Riverside National Cemetery 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, California 92518.
