Joseph Caton LeBrun, 87. Born August, 8th to Katherine Lillian LeBrun and Joseph Louis LeBrun. Graduate of Palm Springs High School, 1955. During his stint in the Army, he was assigned to the White House Army Signal Agency. Upon his honorable discharge, his security clearance allowed him to find work at the Goldstone Deep Space Communications Complex during its early construction and expansion. Sometime later, he moved to the Marine Corps Logistics Base, Barstow. He started as an electronics mechanic and retired a few decades later as an electronics inspector.
In his spare time, he earned his pilots license and continued on to gain several certifications including Certified Flight Instructor. Joseph met the love of his life, Gwendolyn, at the Barstow/Dagget Airport where she worked as a controller for the FAA Flight Service Station. Life, Love, and children followed. Joseph is a man who will always be remembered as someone who taught us what it means to be an adult. Someone who steps up to their responsibilities and faces the consequences of their actions.
He was preceded in death by his sister, parents, wife, and step-son Andrew Colburn. He is survived by his son, Matthew Joseph LeBrun and his step-son Richard Colburn II, nephews Mark Cleveland and Christopher Cleveland as well as several grandchildren and one great-grandson. He is deeply missed and will not be forgotten. Our world is less bright with him gone.
