JOEL DOUGLAS WIESNER

Joel Douglas Wiesner Sr. walked through Heaven’s glorious gate on October 30, 2021- at the prime age of 75. Born in the heart of Springfield, Illinois on January 16,1946, Joel moved out west, at an early age with his parents, where he grew up in sunny Oxnard, California.

Always excelling in education, he graduated from Oxnard High School in 1963, received his Associates of Arts degree in Police Science from Ventura College, and a Bachelor's of Science degree in Administration Of Justice from California Lutheran College. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, with tremendous courage during the Vietnam War.

Being married to his wife, Patricia Mulcahy, for 37 years-together they raised three beautiful children (triplets). During his younger years, he worked as a marshall for Ventura County. Later, working hard to support his family, for 30 years in the private security industry-never missing a day of work. His retirement days were spent relaxing in the backyard sun and most notably with his beloved dog Chico. Every morning, Joel would walk his white German Shepherd 10,000+ steps while also volunteering two days a week for the Veterans Administration.
His love for Veterans never waned nor did his love for classic cars-with occasional trips to local car shows.

Joel was preceded to eternal life by his father Edwin Fredrick Wiesner, his mother Mary Ruby Wiesner, and his sister Deborah JaneMcBee.

He is survived by his wife Patricia Diane Wiesner, his sons Joel Douglas Wiesner Jr, Edwin James Wiesner, his daughter Ashley Renee Wiesner, and his niece Yvette Irene Wiesner-along with numerous nieces, nephews, and countless friends who were blessed to know him.

Joel’s legacy will always remain within each of us. His encouraging words, his kind gestures, his bright smile, his extraordinary work ethic, and his love of life.

Graveside Committal will be Wednesday, November 24, 2021 in Riverside National Cemetery at 11:00 AM.
