JESUS PONCE RODRIGUEZ

On Sunday, August 13, Jesus P. Rodriguez, a dear husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully at his residence in Riverside with family by his side. He was eighty-six. 

  Born to Luis and Maria Rodriguez, Jesus grew up in a small town La Union de Tula, Jalisco, Mexico. He became a laborer at the age of fourteen. Jesus immigrated to California when he was sixteen years old and continued to live the rest of his life in the state. 

  Jesus worked various labor jobs; a butcher at Farmer John for thirteen years, and for more than thirty years, he was a self-employed gardener until he retired. He met his wife, Maria, in his hometown and they were together for nearly fifty-nine years. Jesus leaves behind his wife, three children, and two grandchildren.  

 He took big pride in gardening, whether it was during his job or retirement. Jesus would tend to his backyard garden throughout his life. Jesus had a huge connection with gardening and enjoyed sharing the passion with his family. He will be truly missed and loved in our hearts forever. 

 El domingo 13 de agosto, Jesús P. Rodríguez, un querido esposo, padre y abuelo falleció pacíficamente en su residencia en Riverside con su familia a su lado. Tenía ochenta y seis años.

  Nacido de Luis y María Rodríguez, Jesús creció en un pequeño pueblo La Unión de Tula, Jalisco, México. Se convirtió en obrero a la edad de catorce años. Jesús emigró a California cuando tenía dieciséis años y continuó viviendo el resto de su vida en el estado.

  Jesús trabajó en varios trabajos laborales; carnicero en Farmer John durante trece años, y durante más de treinta años, fue jardinero por cuenta propia hasta que se jubiló. Conoció a su esposa, María, en su ciudad natal y estuvieron juntos durante casi cincuenta y nueve años. Jesús deja atrás a su esposa, tres hijos y dos nietos.

 Se enorgullecía mucho de su jardin, y trabajaba en el todos dias durante su jubilación. Jesús tenía una gran conexión con la jardinería y disfrutaba compartir la pasión con su familia. Será verdaderamente extrañado y amado en nuestros corazones para siempre.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 24, 2023 in Grimes-Akes Family's "Grace Chapel" from 10:00am-12:30pm. Funeral Service will begin at 12:30pm with Graveside service to follow in Pierce Brothers-Crestlawn Memorial Park at 2:30pm.
