JANET MICHELA MARIE MOORE

Jan Michaela Marie Moore, age 69, of Riverside, California Passed from this Life on December 19, 2025. She was the first of three daughters born on May 9, 1956 to Leonard and Stephie Gushulak in Winnipeg, Canada. She is survived by her husband Dan and their two children Daniel Michael Moore and Kendra Lenn Pelkowski. Jan and Dan were wed in 1982.

Jan possessed a strong interest in political science receiving her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of California at Riverside. She also had a drawing toward public welfare, serving for a time as a commissioner on the Human Relations board for the City of Riverside. In 2005 she accepted a position with California University at San Bernardino working with the Ombudsman’s office and later as assistant to the Dean of the Library.

While working at C.S.U.S.B. she earned a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. She had a voracious appetite for books teaching her self how to use and troubleshoot personal computer systems. She wrote poetry, spoke French and Spanish, understood Latin and was teaching herself about Italian and Hebrew. 

She was remarkably empathic being describe by various of her friends as being “a Sister to the World”.  A private memorial service is being planned for the near future.
