Georgianna Helen (Stone) Giarrusso

Georgianna Helen (Stone) Giarrusso, 100, formerly of Yonkers, New York and Victorville, California passed away peacefully in her home in Jurupa Valley, California surrounded by loving family on June 9, 2020. Georgianna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her three children and their spouses: Andrew and Susan Giarrusso, Madelaine and Allen Dannewitz, and George Giarrusso, 11 grandchildren and their spouses: Susan and Shane Krabacher, Madelaine Casler, Serah Hendricks, Johanna and Tim Smith, Mary and Anthony Terrinoni, Joshua Giarrusso, Allen Dannewitz Jr., Adam Dannewitz, Sarah Davenport Giarrusso, Angela Giarrusso, and Andrew Giarrusso, as well as 15 great-grandchildren: Shannon Zory, Savannah and Neona Krabacher, Sophia, Jebediah and Audrey Casler, Thomas Hendricks, Gabriella, Nathanael and Alana Smith, Ilaria and Alessandro Terrinoni, Ramon Caro Giarrusso, Zachary Giarrusso, and Aria Dannewitz.

Georgianna was the devoted wife of Andrew Giarrusso. They moved to Yonkers, New York in 1952, where they raised their three children. Georgianna was employed by New York Telephone Co. in a management position and was well liked and respected by her colleagues. When she and Andrew retired, they moved to Victorville, California where they enjoyed their golden years. She volunteered at Holy Innocents Catholic church as a Eucharistic minister. As a senior citizen, Georgianna enrolled in college and earned excellent grades in her college courses. She was a talented artist and created many beautiful oil paintings. An avid gardener, she enjoyed tending to her beautiful rose garden. Another delight was tending to her aviary of birds and her assortment of pets. Following her husband’s death and as her health began to decline, she moved to Jurupa Valley where she enjoyed spending time with her beloved son George and sweet grandchildren Angela, Andrew and Sarah. Georgianna will be greatly missed by the many who loved her.

Viewing will take place at Akes Family Funeral Home in Riverside, California on Monday, June 15, 2020 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. PT. A mass of Christian burial will take place at Sacred Heart Church in Riverside, California on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. PT. Burial will follow at Riverside National Cemetery. Those who cannot attend in person will be able to participate in the wake and funeral on Zoom.
