May 29, 2021 Gregory Anastacio Cerny took his final walk with the Lord. He was surrounded by his family and friends after a long battle with cancer at his home in Salt lake City Utah.
Gregory was born September 13, 1960 in Albernathy, Texas to Matilda Marrie Segura and Thomas Jerry Cerny. Gregory grew up in the City of West Covina California. He graduated from Edgewood High School in 1978, studied at East Carolina University and enlisted into the United States Marine Corp where he served from 1980-1984. After coming home he worked hard at many positions including USPS, UPS and owned United Umbrella Services in Georgia before moving to Salt Lake City Utah. His biggest passion was his husband James, his family, and friends!
His hobbies included gardening, cooking, taking care of his animals and karaoke. Gregory was a very generous person who enjoyed helping others.
He was preceded in death by his Mother Matilda, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
He is survived by his husband James Scott, Sisters Tracy Beck (Mike Beck), Connie Remington, LaJuana Alcott(Bob Alcott) Several Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces, Great Nephews, Cousins, Aunts and Uncles.
Viewing will be July 1, 2021 from 11AM-12PM with Funeral Services immediately following at 12:30 GRIMES – AKES FAMILY FUNERAL HOME
Committal Service with Military Honors will be held July 1, 2021 2:15PM at RIVERSIDE NATIONAL CEMETARY
