In loving Memory of Georgia Felix Sotelo
February 10, 1937 – September 12, 2024
Georgia Felix Sotelo was born on February 10, 1937, in Carlsbad, CA. She passed away peacefully on September 12, 2024, at the age of 87 surrounded by family at her home.
In 1957 she was honored with the title of Cinco de Mayo Queen in Corona, CA.
Georgia was incredibly beautiful, elegant, full of love, hugs, life, joy, and laughter. She touched many lives, including family and friends.
Throughout her life, she showed courage, strength, and dedication by raising 5 boys and 2 girls, who she taught well. She loved her children unconditionally and was proud of them. She dedicated her life through prayers for each of them.
She enjoyed music, singing, dancing, shopping, eating ice cream, chips, and she liked hearts, doves, and red roses. Most importantly, her greatest joy was family gatherings.
Her joy of singing “Happy Birthday” was a classic to sing along with “A bushel and a Peck;” along with her favorite songs “Marcha de Zacatecas” and “Las Mañanitas.”
Georgia is survived by her husband Arnulfo (Javier) Sotelo, her children Donna Plaza (Manuel), Frank Marmolejo Jr. (preceded in death), David Marmolejo, Melinda Lord (Mike), Ruben Marmolejo (Angie), Daniel F. Marmolejo and Anthony Marmolejo, 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces who all had a special place in her heart and loved very much. Mom, we love you!
