Earl Johnson was born to Toliver Johnson and Eva Catherine Varner in Fort Necessity, Louisiana on January 25, 1935.
Earl grew up in Louisiana, joined the Army and quickly realized the Army was not for him. Earl moved to Los Angeles not long after deciding to join the Navy. Earl was a Navy man through and through. He could go on and on telling stories of his time in the service. He often spoke of his time spent on submarines, when he was younger and getting into mischief with his older brother Wilburt and his love of music, especially Jazz.
Earl met and married the love of his life Aurelia May Johnson, whom he cared for until her death. Earl loved Frosted Flakes and if you ever asked him why he loved them, he would say, "Because they're Great!". He loved orange soda, The Young and The Restless, and western cowboy movies.
Earl is survived by his stepdaughter Sheila Linly Clark, granddaughter Eon Walk,, siblings John Pleasant, Albert Pleasant, Frank (Jerry) Pleasant, Ida Hoard (Alonzo) Richard (Althea) Pleasant, Eva (Willie) Flemming, Gestina (O.T.) Hendricks, 9 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren, 12 nieces and 7 nephews. He was predeceased by 2 grandchildren Predon Walk and Nikkia Walk, and siblings Flossie Pleasant, Wilbert Carmichael, Liv and Dorothy Pleasant and Sis. in laws Gloria Pleasant and Mary Pleasant.
