EVELYN (BOYKIN) McGEE
May 5, 1940 ~ December 3, 2023 (age 83) 83 Years Old

Evelyn McGee was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on May 5th, 1940 to John Boykin and Freola Robonson. She was the third child of six siblings and she was proceeded in death by John Boykin, Freola Robonson, Raymond Boykin, Maryann Anthony.
At an early age Evelyn McGee confessed to Christ at Baptist Temple Church, in Shreveport Louisiana. She remained a faithful member there until she moved to Los Angeles, California in 1958 after graduating from Booker T. Washington Highschool. There, she met her Highschool sweetheart and future husband Edward McGee. The two were married on April 12th, 1959. Evelyn was the cherished mother of four children, each of whom she loved unconditionally. Her legacy lives on through her children: Donna Simien, who proceeded her mother in death, Rhonda Watson, Monica Goins, and Yolanda Lewis. She was not just a mother but also a source of unwavering support, guidance, and endless love for her beautiful daughters and family.
A true southern belle, she was known for her warm smile, gentle spirit, and nurturing nature. Evelyn touched the lives of everyone she encountered. Her home was a haven of love and laughter, where friends and family gathered to share in her kindness and generosity. Its no wonder why she would be affectionately known by many as Momma. No one was ever turned away from her home. She created a legacy of love that will continue to resonate through generations.
Evelyn had a passion for quality shopping. There was never a sale she didn't know about! She also had a passion for good food and was a true tiktok enthusiast. A world traveler ,Evelyn jetsetted to Spain, Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, Monaco, Hawaii, and Mexico to name a few. Whether it was through her delicious home-cooked meals, her words of wisdom, or her comforting presence, she made every moment memorable.
In addition to her role as a mother and grandmother, Evelyn was an active member of her community, contributing her time and efforts to various charitable causes. Her selflessness and commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others will be remembered fondly by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
As we mourn her loss, let us also celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the love she shared. Her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends, a beacon of inspiration and a reminder of the power of love.
Grandchildren: Stefan Watson Jr., Elainna Sanders, Christopher Stephens, Edward Stephens, Stefanie Watson, Danielle Simien, Justin Lewis, Billy Goins III, and Sarah Goins.
Great-grandchildren: Stefan Watson, BJ Sanders, Nuru Stephens, Champion Stephens, Zuni Stephens, Aurora, Aaron, Brian, Marceli Goins, and Billy Goins IV, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
May Evelyn Boykin McGees’ soul rest in eternal peace, and may her memory continue to bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.

Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 10:00 AM in Grimes-Akes Family's "Grace Chapel" Corona, California.
Burial to follow at Riverside National Cemetery , Riverside, California at 1:00 PM.
