EUNICE MARIE WIGGINS

Eunice Marie Wiggins, age 85, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at her home in Redlands, CA.

Eunice was born on February 11, 1939 in Wasco, CA to Leon and Edna Hampton (Gray). Eunice had one younger brother, Leland Hampton. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Leon and Edna and her brother, Leland.

Eunice accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at the age of twelve years old and was baptized by the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church of Dinuba, CA. It was around this time that Eunice first met Lonnie Lee Wiggins in her sixth grade class. They quickly formed a bond and became inseparable. Eunice and Lonnie were sweethearts throughout their high school years and were married on September 14, 1957. They were blessed with three children, Brian Keith, Cheryl Denise and Darla Jean.

Eunice worked in various secretarial and administrative positions throughout her life, but her first priority was always her family. Not only was she a loving wife and mother, but she was a faithful and devoted pastor’s wife for over fifty years. In every way she showed kindness, love and compassion to those around her. She was an example to us all.

Eunice and Lonnie were also blessed with eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Eunice loved being a Grandma more than anything. She doted on her grandchildren and gave them plenty of treats and sweets, sometimes even for breakfast! Eunice herself was also a lover of sweets, especially anything chocolate. You could always get on her good side if you brought her a candy bar or a chocolate milkshake.

Eunice was fun-loving and playful with her family and close friends. She loved to laugh and had the most beautiful smile that would light up the room. Her life was a reflection of Jesus Christ and she served Him faithfully as a member of His church until the day she went to her heavenly Home.

Eunice and Lonnie were married for nearly sixty-six years until Lonnie went to be with the Lord in September of 2023. Their beautiful marriage was a love story for the ages.

Eunice is survived by three children Brian Wiggins (Shari), Cheryl Budd (Mark) and Darla Goodrum (Collin); eight grandchildren Steven, Kristen, Daniel, Philip, Aaron, Alyssa, Alison and Madeline; and eleven great-grandchildren Kailee, Jasper, McKenna, Kolton, Reagan, Molly, Caden, Zoey, Brooklyn, Cameron and Maverick.

Visitation will be from 9-10 am on Friday, October 18, 2024 at First Missionary Baptist Church, Redlands, California. Funeral Service will begin at 10 am.

Graveside service will follow at 1 pm at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, Calimesa, California.
