Emil Dragovich Jr.
December 4, 1954 – April 28, 2025
Born in Hawthorne, California, Emil moved with his family to Fountain Valley, where he
graduated high school in 1972. A lifelong rockandroll fan, he never tired of sharing
stories of falconry, dirtbike rides at Glamis, and his favorite bands—Black Sabbath and
Ozzy Osbourne.
In 1978 he met his future bride, Paulene, in an Orange County disco bar. They married
in Long Beach in 1981, settled in Moreno Valley, and raised two sons, Alexander and
Zachary. Despite early health challenges, Emil and Paulene shared road trips to Las
Vegas, an Alaskan cruise, and visits to Seattle, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., New
York, and Hawaii. At home, he delighted in cooking, hummingbird feeding, movies with
Paulene, and doting on his three grandsons—Mason, Asher, and Jacob.
Emil’s warmth, humor, and love for family brightened every room. He is survived by his
wife, Paulene; sons Alex and Zachary; daughter in law Jennifer; and grandchildren
Mason, Asher, and Jacob. He will be deeply missed. May his memory be a blessing.
Memorial Service will be Monday, May 19, 2025 at 11 am at Temple Beth El, Riverside, California.
Arrangements entrusted to the care of Akes Family Funeral Home, Riverside, California.
