ELLEN RENATE RIX

With heartfelt love and compassion, we remember Ellen Rix, who passed away on the morning of January 29, 2023 in Riverside, CA at the age of 87. Born in Frankfurt, Germany on April 29, 1935, Ellen was a bright light in the lives of those around her, filling the roles of loving wife, mother, Omi, friend, and so much more. Despite facing countless challenges, including two bouts of polio as a child and a battle with cancer, Ellen remained a fighter throughout her life, never losing her strength of will and determination. In addition to her unwavering spirit, Ellen was also a talented artist who brought beauty into the world through her self-taught oil paintings and life-like wax dolls dressed in handmade outfits. She was also a gifted seamstress, creating clothing, quilts, and so much more. In May of 1956, Ellen married the love of her life, Warren Edward "ED"; Rix, Jr. Their shared love for adventure and travel led them on many journeys throughout the United States by RV. Together, they raised two beautiful children, Peggy Crowley and Michael Rix, and Ellen was a devoted grandmother, know affectionately as "OMI" to Christopher, Starla, Ellie, Taylor and Mikey. She was also a proud great-grandmother to five great-grandbabies.
Though she may no longer be with us, Ellen will always be remembered and loved, and her strength, spirit, and beauty will continue to inspire those who knew her.

Rosary at 10:30 am followed by Mass at 11:00 am
Burial at Riverside National Cemetery at 1:00 pm 22495 Van Buren Blvd Riverside CA 92518
