David Murray Moore

David Murray Moore (Scooter Dave) was born Tuesday May 2, 1944 to Betty (Reed) and Mannie Moore in Pasadena, California. He passed away Tuesday February 28, 2023 in Riverside, California at the age of 78.David was raised in Azusa, California where he graduated from Azusa High School in 1963. He worked at a vacuum repair shop as a teenager and was drafted into the Army in 1965. He served for 2 years in the Army as a Military Policeman & Detective in Germany. He was honorably discharged and received a Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Expert ( Rifle). After discharge from the military, he went on to work for United Technologies Corporation. He retired from United Technologies Corporation after 23 years where he worked as a lead foreman manufacturing heating and air conditioning units. He had 1 daughter, Amanda'Kay and raised her in Colton, California. He also had 2 grandchildren, a grandson Eric and a granddaughter Emily'Alexis. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and older brother. He is survived by his daughter Amanda'Kay (Eric), grandson Eric, granddaughter Emily'Alexis, 2 brothers Douglas (Jeanette), Robert (Linda), a sister Christine and many other family and friends. He loved going to church, concerts, amusement parks, museums, air shows and zoos with his family and friends. He also loved motorcycles and could frequently be seen riding his motor scooter, which earned him the nickname of Scooter Dave. He leaves behind 7 cats whom he loved dearly. In lieu of flowers, if anyone would like to donate cat food, cat products or gift cards, they will go to the direct care of his beloved cats. Funeral services will be held Friday April 7, 2023 at Riverside National Cemetery, located at 22495 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, CA 92518. Service will begin at 11 am. Please arrive 15-20 minutes early for check-in.
