CATHERINE RAMONA COTTO

Catherine Ramona Cotto was born to parents Jose and Nancy (Ahedo) Cotto on July 24, 1972 in Brooklyn, New York. At the age of 2 and a half, Cathy's father went into the service and Cathy and Nancy came to California. She was always a happy child with a smile on her face.

Cathy received her early years of education in Highland Park, California. She attended Whittier High School and those were her most eventful and promising years. She furthered her education and received her license as a massage therapist in the year 1999.

As Cathy continued working, she worked for Little Company of Mary as a receptionist. in 2005 she began working for Torrance Memorial Hospital until her passing.

Cathy attended the Dream City Church in Whittier. She enjoyed singing out loud in her car and at home. She learned the lyrics to all of her favorite Christian songs. She was baptized on August 14, 2016. It was one of the greatest days of her life. She was very active in serving in the church. She enjoyed reading her bible.

Cathy had a love for Starbucks. She enjoyed listening to Puerto Rican music and she was a great mother to her son Jessie. On October 7, God in his infinite wisdom cradled Cathy in his arms as she lay asleep that night. Cathy is survived by her son Jessie Castro, her mother Nancy and her step-father Michael, and her brother Peter as well as numerous extended family members.

Cathy was generous, kind and accepting to all. Her tenderness and caring had an impact on those she met briefly and those who knew her well. She will be greatly missed by many.

Visitation will be on Thursday, November 6, 2025 from 10-11 am at Family Church in Whittier, California with Funeral Service to start at 11 am. Graveside service will follow at Pierce-Brothers Crestlawn Memorial Park in Riverside at 2:30 pm.
