Barbara Jean Bradley-Thomas was born on December 8, 1936, in Wamego, Pottawatomie County,
Kansas; to Orville and Shirley Bradley and was the youngest of four beloved children. From her earliest
days, Barbara’s life was marked by resilience and resolve. Though she spent much of her childhood
hospitalized and became a poster child for Easter Seals, she never let adversity define her. Instead, she
transformed her challenges into a testament of courage, refusing to let her handicap interfere with the
joy and quality of her life.
Barbara's journey through life was woven with enduring love, education, and service. She attended
Topeka High School, where she met her first husband, Eddie C. Robinson Jr. of Alabama. Eddie joined the
Air Force and in 1951 they were married and stationed at Forbes AFB in Topeka Kansas. Together, they
welcomed two children: Tamela C. Robinson and Eddie C. Robinson III. After Eddie’s discharge from the
Air Force, the family made new beginnings in Pasadena and San Bernardino, California.
Following her divorce, Barbara pursued higher education at San Bernardino Valley College and Crafton
Hills College, earning her nursing degree as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). She served several years
with compassion and skill at San Bernardino Community Hospital, St. Bernardine Medical Center, and
San Bernardino County Hospital, touching countless lives through her work.
In 1972, Barbara met the love of her life, Sgt. Timothy Thomas. United in marriage on December 24,
1973, they nurtured a profound partnership that endured for 51 remarkable years. In 1979, Barbara was
hired by Jerry L. Pettis Veterans Hospital, where she excelled in nursing and later as a Lab Tech
Supervisor, dedicating 25 years before her retirement. Never one to rest on her laurels, she returned to
school to become a Certified Medical Coder for Loma Linda Medical Center and subsequently served the
U.S. Forest Service in vehicle management.
Barbara departed this life on June 24, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family at home in Rialto,
California. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Shirley, and her three siblings, Ivan
Bradley, Noble Bradley and Norma Jean Stevenson whose memory she held dear.
