ARDUS ENDRES Obituary

Ardus Jean Endres passed away from life on earth and into the arms of her Lord and Savior on September 15, 2024.  She was 91 years old.

Born to Robert Paul and Frances Mary (Luginbill) Beaty in Sturgis, Michigan on May 15, 1933, she grew up in Berne, Indiana, along with her younger brother, Gary Paul Beaty.  She graduated from Berne-French Township High School in Berne, Indiana in 1951.

Ardus Jean graduated as a registered nurse from Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in Fort Wayne, Indiana on August 27, 1954.  She then started attending John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Arkansas studying music where she earned an associate degree in 1956.  During her tenure at JBU she met her husband, Roland Eric Endres.  They were married on June 2, 1957.

After living a few years in Marion, Indiana they moved their young family of four children to Corona, California in 1965. Ardus Jean prioritized her husband and children in life, creating a loving, organized, and beautiful home for her family.  She loved gardening and yard work and grew beautiful flowers that were centerpieces on her dining room table year round.  Cooking delicious meals for her family and frequent guests brought great joy to her and others.  The laundry, ironing, and cleaning were never neglected.  In the background, her beautiful voice and joyful whistling were heard throughout the home.  She juggled the tasks of homemaking and child rearing while working part time as a nurse. Truly, her discipline, work ethic, and faithfulness were hallmarks of her character.

Outside the home, she enjoyed yearly camping vacations with the family visiting national parks and enjoying the beauty of God’s creation. She loved hiking, fishing, and camping with friends and family.  Frequently she visited her children and grandchildren in other states.

Ardus Jean sang in church choirs and duets with her husband Eric for many years.  Her vocal talents and piano proficiency were shared with many throughout her lifetime.  Many pastors, missionaries, and friends enjoyed meals around her table as she lovingly shared her gifts of hospitality and service with joy.  She opened her home to Bible studies for years.  No doubt, many have been blessed by her selfless service throughout her life.

Most importantly, Ardus Jean accepted Jesus as her Savior as a young girl and faithfully followed Him throughout her life.  She is finally home in heaven.  Proverbs 3:5-6 were among her favorite Bible verses:  “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge Him and he will make your paths straight.”

Her memory will be cherished by all surviving members of her family, including sons, Perry Mark Endres, Craig Steven (Heidi) Endres, David Paul (Cheryl) Endres, daughter Diann Sue (Brian) Boone, nine grandchildren:, Hannah Melissa (Endres) Fong, Emily Grace Endres, Cherise Kala Endres, Ryan David Endres, Gretchen Brittany (Endres) Griffin, Natalie Hope (Boone) Logeman, Matthew Craig Endres, Lindsay Grace (Boone) Webb, Sally Faith Boone, and six great grandchildren.
