ANITA DAROYA PERALTA

Anita (Liwanag) Daroya Peralta sadly passed away on April 19, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas, at 88 years old.  She was a long-time resident of Carson, California and previously of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, and NAS Agana Guam.  Anita was born to Victorino Daroya and Dolores Liwanag on August 16, 1937 in Manila, Philippines.  She is preceded in death by husband, Francisco Peralta; son, Wilbur Peralta; and daughter, Jane Peralta.  She was also preceded by brothers, Ricardo Daroya, Jovencio Daroya, Jose Daroya, and Dr Romeo Ferrer, half-brother Roberto Daroya, and half-sisters Lilia Fortin and Erlinda Escobilla.  She is survived by her sons, Freddie (Michelle) and Henry (Gina, who passed away April 22, 2026), half-sisters Leticia Belisario, and Mary Cecille Garcia, half-brother Ernesto Daroya, and 11 grandchildren.

Anita will always be remembered as the kind and generous mother and grandmother who handled life obstacles and difficulties with grace and love.  She was an accountant/bookkeeper for most of her adult life and her favorite hobbies included ballroom dancing, ceramics, and crochet.  She was driven by her faith in Jesus Christ and was a parishioner at St Philomena Catholic Church in Carson CA and active with Couples for Christ and the Dagupan City Club of Southern California.  Although she suffered from dementia during her later years, she remained loving, kind, and good-humored and shared long ago memories.

Viewing is on May 23, at 10:00 am, followed by Rosary at 11:00 am and service at 11:30 am at Akes Family Funeral Home, 9695 Magnolia Avenue, Riverside, CA 92503.  Burial will follow at 1:30 pm at the Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, CA 92518.
