ALICIA JOSEFINA MENDIOLA

Alicia Josefina Mendiola, 81, passed away on April 30, 2026 in Riverside California. She was born to Francisco and Paula (Cobos) Vera -Tudela in Peru on November 29, 1943.

Alicia Josefina Vera-Tudela Mendiola is survived by her devoted husband, Edgardo Mendiola; her loving sisters, Marietta Lombardo and Mercedes Composto; and her children, Giovanni Mendiola, Piero Mendiola, Gigi Mendiola, Fabrizio Mendiola, Gioconda Mendiola, Giuliana Mendiola, and Lucciano Mendiola.

She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: John Dunn; Antonio Garcia, Corina Garcia, Alicia Metka, and Victor Garcia; Cassandra Mendiola, Eddie Mendiola, and Nicolas Mendiola; Zackary Mendiola, Gianna Mendiola, Piero Mendiola, Marcello Mendiola, and Santiago Mendiola; Giuliana Hychko and Angelina Hychko; Luciana Mendiola, Sophia Mendiola, and Fabrizio Mendiola Jr.; and Gioconda Johansen, Leonardo Johansen, and Giuliano Johansen. 

Alicia was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Antonio Garcia, Blair Metka, Raven Metka, Gimoani Chalis, Lucca Mendiola, Levi Mendiola, Aaela Mendiola, and Lively Mendiola. 

Alicia will be remembered as the matriarch of the Mendiola family, a businesswoman, a fierce competitor, and the heart of generations. More than anything, she was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was the love of our lives, and her strength, presence, and unconditional love will live on through all of us forever.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at 10 am at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church, Riverside, California.
